Microsoft is expected to release Windows 8.1, which uses a new version of Internet Explorer 11, on October 17th, 2013.
Until CoreLogic has certified that IE11 is fully compatible with its MLS systems, we recommend that you do not install Windows 8.1. (Windows 8 does not support earlier, certified versions of Internet Explorer, unfortunately.)
Windows 8.1 is NOT an "automatic update" but it could come pre-installed with a new computer purchase. Windows 8.1 would also be available through an upgrade to your current Windows 8 system which you would need to install. Microsoft informs us that in all cases you will know 8.1 is installed. To reiterate, 8.1 WILL NOT be installed without your knowledge.
If you choose to do so, the only version of Internet Explorer you will be able to use is IE11 in which you will encounter issues accessing MLS.
